  • Do you accept insurance?

    Yes. You will be told exactly our in-network insurance status when you inquire. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major private insurances.

  • Do you accept self-pay patients?

    Yes. Self-pay pricing is available on a sliding scale. Generally a new patient consults are $90, established patient visits are $70. Lab collection for self-pay patients is $35.

  • What should I bring with me to my visit?

    Please bring a valid photo ID and your insurance card (if applicable). Also bring a list of your current medications, allergies, and past medical conditions to help our providers give you the best care.

  • Are walk-ins accepted?

    Yes, we accept walk-in patients at both our Paterson and Clifton locations for urgent care, primary care, and sick visits.

    Scheduled patients will be given priority in the order they are seen. Same-day appointments are available, but they are considered walk-ins. The usual wait time is 15 to 20 minutes after paperwork and registration are completed.

  • Do you accept Medicaid insurance?

    Yes, we accept NJ FamilyCare Medicaid (MCOs) including Aetna Better Health of NJ, Amerigroup NJ, Horizon NJ Health, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, WellCare, and Fidelis Care.
    ⚠️ Please note: one of our providers must be listed as your assigned provider in the Medicaid eligibility system for visits to be covered. A reference number alone is not sufficient. Patients may need to wait in the office until the Medicaid system reflects the change, but our staff will assist you in making the switch.

  • What is the process for weight loss medications and prior authorization?

    If you are interested in medications like Wegovy® or Zepbound™, our Prior Authorization Team will review your insurance coverage and handle the approval process on your behalf. We work with all insurance inclufing Medicare, Horizon NJ Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and other plans.

  • What is the best way to contact the clinic?

  • Can I go between Paterson and Clifton locations?

    Yes. Patients are welcome to be seen at either our Paterson or Clifton clinics for their care.

  • Do you offer weight loss programs?

    Yes. We provide medically supervised weight loss programs that may include FDA-approved medications such as Wegovy®, Zepbound™, Ozempic®, and Mounjaro® (used for diabetes). We also prescribe Phentermine, Qsymia®, and Contrave® when appropriate, based on your health needs. Our Prior Authorization Team works with your insurance to seek approval for covered medications and guide you through the process.

  • What is urgent care?

    Urgent care is a type of walk-in medical service for non-emergency needs. Our clinics in Paterson and Clifton provide treatment for common illnesses and injuries when you can’t wait for a primary care appointment but don’t need the ER.

  • What types of illnesses and injuries can be treated at urgent care?

    Our providers in Paterson and Clifton can treat:
    - Common cold, flu, and COVID testing
    - Strep throat and ear infections
    - Minor cuts, scrapes, and lacerations (stitches available)
    - Minor burns and rashes
    - Sprains, strains, and joint pain
    - Fever, infections, or urgent sick visits
    - On-site lab collection, EKGs, and digital X-rays (off-site if needed - not available at the clinic)

  • When to go directly to the ER include:

    Go directly to the ER for:
    Chest pain or pressure (possible heart attack)
    Signs of stroke (sudden weakness, facial drooping, speech difficulty, vision changes)
    Severe shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    Severe abdominal pain
    Uncontrolled bleeding
    Major trauma or head injury
    Seizures
    Loss of consciousness

    ⚠️ Please note: Mujtaba Clinic is not an emergency room. We are here for primary care, urgent care, and walk-in services, but emergencies require hospital-level treatment.

  • Do you offer IV therapy?

    Yes. We provide IV therapy options for hydration, immunity support, energy boost, and recovery. Popular drips include vitamin C, immune blends, and energy-focused infusions. IV therapy bypasses the digestive system, delivering hydration, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants straight into your bloodstream for immediate absorption and faster results.

  • Is IV therapy covered by insurance?

    Generally, IV therapy for wellness or hydration is not covered by insurance. However, in certain medical cases — such as migraine treatment with a history, Headache related ER visits or acute dehydration with symptoms — insurance coverage may be possible based on your evaluation. Coverage varies and must be confirmed with your insurance provider.

  • Do you provide Botox treatments?

    Yes. Mujtaba Clinic offers Botox for cosmetic treatments such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, as well as for medical conditions like migraines.
